Signed KH, Who is the artist?

I thought I knew the artist, but I can't remember their name. It was my mother's favorite artist, so I'd love to know who did it (I recognized it from her books). This was in Pisa down the road from the leaning tower and it's signed "KH, 89". Summer 2006.
